My Journey

I'm so glad you stumbled upon my little corner of the world. Welcome to my sanctuary for healing and growth. You know, I've always been that friend who listens to everyone’s stories and tries to provide a comforting shoulder. Back in high school and college, people used to call me “The Vault” or “The Secret Keeper.” Funny, right? But it really just shows how much I care about understanding and supporting others. I’m here to offer you that same safe space.

 

Have you ever found yourself on a path that seemed right at first, but then something else pulled you in a different direction? That's kind of how it was for me. Initially, in college I thought I’d follow in my dad’s medical field footsteps by going pre-med and then into pediatrics. But as it turns out, we both ended up drawn to mental health, which was such a cool realization for us. My dad shifted his interest towards neuropsychology and substance abuse, and I found my own way in psychotherapy. Isn’t it fascinating how life sometimes guides us to where we truly belong?

What is a Book That Shaped Who I am Today?

"How Babies Are Made" - By Andrew C. Andry and Steven Schepp

Let me tell you about this book that means the world to me! I still look back fondly on the deep, meaningful chats it inspired between my mom and me. She was just incredible—always so open, honest, and without a hint of shame when talking about sex, sexuality, & the human body. It made everything feel so normal and easy to discuss.

 

Thanks to her, our home was a place where curiosity wasn’t just accepted; it was celebrated. I learned so much that I became the unofficial expert among my friends on the playground, sharing my “wisdom” with anyone who wanted to listen. Those talks with my mom were both eye-opening and empowering, setting me up perfectly for all the important conversations I’d have later in life.

Having Peace Lilies around the house has been such a joy for me. They’re these lovely plants that grow super fast and just add this touch of elegance with their beautiful white flowers. What I really love about them is their little “drama queen” act—they get all droopy when they're thirsty, which is kind of hilarious. But the best part? With a bit of water and care, they perk right back up. It’s like they're giving me a gentle nudge to focus on my growth and self-care too. It's comforting and inspiring all at once!

What Do You Dislike That Others Seem to Enjoy?

 

Roses & Chocolate

Roses really smell like poo-poo

You know, a lot of people go crazy for roses, but I’ve always found them kind of ordinary. I mean, think about it—there are over a hundred thousand different types of flowers out there! Why stick with the usual when you’ve got so many amazing options to choose from? Personally, I love taking a moment to admire Stargazer Lilies, Sunflowers, or Lorelei Peonies. Each of these blooms has its own unique story and special meanings. They’re so much more captivating than your typical rose.

And here’s something that might surprise you: I’ve never been a fan of chocolate! I like to joke that I’m already chocolate-filled from head to toe, thanks to my melanin. But I do enjoy white chocolate, even though some people say it doesn’t really count as “real” chocolate. Isn’t that funny?

You know, people have all sorts of thoughts when it comes to horoscopes. It's like this mixed bag of opinions. For me, being born on the cusp, I find it fascinating. I see some traits that totally make sense, while others feel way off. But honestly, I can't help but dive into my horoscope every now and then. It's kind of fun to see how certain things might line up with what's going on in my life. It's like this little adventure of self-discovery!
