Eboniña Evans MA, LMFT
I have learned that the human experience has plenty of positive experiences, as well as, exposure to moments of doubt, disappointment, uncertainty, loss, and sadness that comes along with living. Together, we can create an environment in which you can move forward and use our therapeutic relationship to gain a greater self-understanding.
I work with the San Francisco Bay Area’s broad spectrum of people from different cultures, lifestyles, experiences, ethnicities, socio-economic, and LGBTQI backgrounds with 9+ years experience via counseling. I have understanding via working with a variety of clients including children, teens, adults, and families. My areas of expertise include: sexual psychotherapy, sexual abuse & trauma, LGBTQI community, grief, depression, anxiety, stress, and life changes & transitions while being culturally aware.
Supporting you with an open mind is what I am here for! I work towards being sensitive not to project my personal beliefs on to you, as I am open & willing to listen and respond to your life experience(s). I am available & passionate about being, an instrument of change, while providing nonjudgemental listening, acceptance, and an empathetic understanding. I work from an integrative theoretical stance which can consist of Person-Centered, Child-Centered, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral, Mindfulness, and/or Somatic. You, the client, determine the general direction of therapy, while I, the therapist, seek to increase your insight and self-understanding. I gravitate towards shaping the therapy in a way that will best aid you in reaching your goals. Together we will determine the treatment style that best suits your needs.
Animal Assisted Therapy
Animal-assisted therapy can significantly reduce pain, anxiety, depression, and fatigue in people. Pet therapy is also being used in medical and non-medical settings, such as universities and community programs, to help people deal with anxiety and stress.
Shi-Shi is a 9.5lb, 14-year-old Shih-Tzu & Poodle mix. She is trained to lay off to the side, unless she is called upon by you. Her breed is one of the few dogs recommended for those with an allergy to dogs, so don't worry.
